Hi I'm Kim

I'm a teacher and a wannabe singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Faith, family, friends, food, and music pretty much describe me in a nutshell! As a single woman, my faith, friends and family are my strength, food is my weakness, and music is my passion. There is nothing I'd rather be doing than singing...preferably to myself in the car. I am lucky enough to work in a field where molding the young minds of America starts with reading a silly story about pigeons and singing a song to teach the states of matter. I have been a teacher for 5 years now...I can hardly believe it. I can't wait to someday mold the minds and hearts of my own little Americans.

Why I am a Mormon

When my mom was just 18 she found herself newly married and pregnant with me. She began wanting different things for her life and the life of her new little family. When members of the church brought the gospel to her, she embraced it with open arms. I am grateful every day for her decision. I never doubted the faith I was raised in, but there came a point when I knew that I needed to know for myself that the things I had been taught my whole life were true. I've since tested the promises...many times. I've read the Book of Mormon and prayed for my own witness to its' truth...It is true and has been a guide to me...especially in the last 15 years. I continue to learn from its' teachings and the teachings of the Bible daily. They truly testify of Jesus Christ. I've listened to the words of living prophets, followed them, and have been blessed with an outpouring of the Lord's love and an increase in strength to overcome my trials. I've felt the Savior's love as I repented and received forgiveness for my sins. I've shared what I know as a missionary and although meeting rejection was frequent and difficult, my own testimony grew as I witnessed individuals grow and find their own joy in discovering God's plan. My conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ was not a one time phenomenon, but is the product of the many "mini" miracles. This life was meant to test us...and a test it has truly been and continues to be for me, but I know that God loves His children and wants them to have joy in this life and that includes me! For me the joy has come in knowing that God has a plan for me and a means to help me achieve that plan.

How I live my faith

I have served within the church in many capacities over the years. Most recently, I serve as a leader in our women's organization. I am grateful that I get to associate with amazing women that love and serve Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I learn from them on a daily basis. We have weekly lessons which give us a chance to relate the gospel to our own lives and discover the divine mission we have as women in building the Lord's Kingdom. I love it!
