Hi I'm Brock

I'm an Electrical Engineering graduate student. I study lasers for micromachining magnets. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since March of 2008. We have one girl, one boy, and another little one on the way. I love to spend time with my family. I am currently at college working toward a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. I have been a Teaching Assistant in Electromagnetics and am a Research Assistant in Energy and Magnetics. I enjoy technology: Apple, beta testing, etc.; movies; sci-fi TV; microelectronics; and driving. I even drove the Nissan Leaf when it came to town. Who needs a hybrid when I can be all-electric? Two words: Nikola Tesla.

Why I am a Mormon

I live my life knowing that someone is always there to care for both me and my family. Our Heavenly Father loves us. I see His love on a frequent basis. I know that He and Jesus Christ have a love for us individually that we cannot comprehend. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it and the Bible work together to show us Heavenly Father's will for us through personal guidance. I know I can live with my family forever in happiness, having been united for time and eternity in the Los Angeles California Temple. This and much more is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had a few functions at my church which are very close to my heart. I recently was teaching the 5-6 year olds in Primary as well as being a Webelos Den Leader CubScouts. I now teach, tutor, and work with the young men, ages 13-14. The kids I teach are energetic and a blast to spend time with and teach about the gospel. Sometimes I find they know way more about the scriptures than I do. They are an amazing generation of kids. Also, as a home teacher, I get to visit two wonderful ladies who cannot leave their respective homes. I enjoy the optimistic outlook they have on life and the joy that brings to me as I bring more of the gospel to them. At home my wife and I sing to, read to, and play with our baby girl. We believe in beginning at an early age teaching gospel principles to our children as well as sharing our beliefs regularly especially weekly at Family Home Evening as a family.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe families can be joined together (sealed) forever in happiness. Family is the center unit of society and we make it of highest priority in our life. It is where we have some hard struggles, learn to work and love together, and enjoy the greatest happiness. Show more Show less
