Hi I'm Mike

I am a recent retiree of the Army of more then 26 years. The father of 4 and husband to an amazing woman.

About Me

I like most outdoor activities, skiing both snow and water, inline skating, scuba diving, biking, and running. I did lots of fun and exciting things in the Army in my 26 years however the thing I liked most was the travel to many cultures around the world and finding out about the differences between them and the culture I was raised in.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born in the Church I always did not follow the teachings. At one point in my life I evaluated what was going on in my life and thought things are really not going that well. I remembered when I was younger I seemed to be happier when I was living as I had been taught. So I kneeled down and had a conversation with the Lord and said I will give you 6 months and if my life is not going better then what I had been taught is not true. If my life is better then I will continue to try and do as I had been taught as a child. Well over 26 years later he has still not fell through on his end of the deal.

How I live my faith

I take the time to get to know my neighbors to include their hobbies and interests. I have been asked to teach several different class in the church in doing this I have had to learn the subjects that were being taught. This probably helped me more then the people I was teaching. I help to organize activities for the group of people my age that I attend church classes with as well as organizing service projects for others in our community. For many years I helped out as a scout leader in our church working in all branches of that organization from scout leader to varsity coach.
