Hi I'm Allison

I am the mother of a beautiful baby girl. I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in beautiful southern California, and from the very start had a passion for being outdoors. I like running, walking, hiking, or even just sitting outside in nature. I married my sweet husband after he returned from a mission in Brazil, and we now have a beautiful baby girl who is truly perfect in every way. I have always had a fascination with the human body and how it works. The small things amaze me the most, that is how I became a Medical Laboratory Scientist, studying the systems of the human body and how they interact each and every day to keep us alive.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon and taught me principles of the church from a very young age. Even though I haven't always had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, I have always had a really strong belief in my heart that He is my Savior. My brother once asked me when I knew the church was true, and I told him that there was never one big moment, but that my whole life has been and continues to be a compilation of many small faith building experiences. Many answers to prayers, many comforting moments, and many many times when I have felt something swell inside me, so warm, and so wonderful telling me that it is the truth. The fellowship of friends and family is wonderful in the church, and being a part of a huge circle of service as you serve and others serve you is incredible. These are great things, but it isn't the reason why I am a Mormon. I have gotten down on my knees and prayed to my Father in Heaven, and I have asked to know the truth, and this is it. I know I am a daughter of God, and I know he loves me and knows me better than anyone here on earth. I know that He sent His Son, jesus Christ to mark the path, and lead the way for each of us. I know that Jesus died, and that He suffered for me, and for you, and that He rose again, so that we may too. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and truly another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ. I have read it over and over again, and it is an inspired book from God. Being a Mormon and living my life according to the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me the greatest happiness there is possible to experience. I have felt His love for me, and I know that God has a plan for me, a plan so that I can live with my family forever in joy and happiness if I follow His words.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church on Sunday and other various activities throughout the week. Throughout the month I visit several women from church in their home and we talk about church principles and how they help us in our lives. In the church we have a big organization of women that provides a lot of service for one another. We serve one another by bringing dinner to each other during difficult times and providing service to one another in many other ways. About six months ago I moved across the country to a place I had never been and had no family anywhere nearby. It was really hard for me to start off in a new area, but the women from the church in our new area immediately became my friends and helped me get used to our new home. Right now I give service in our church by helping the youth with their homework. It's just a simple program that is trying to make sure all the youth graduate from high school. I really enjoy the time we get to spend together learning.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I believe the best way to increase our faith in Jesus Christ is first to study His life, and second to follow His example. Show more Show less
