Hi I'm Andrea

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent graduate in the field of instructional technology. For five years I taught a class for undergraduates on how to use technology to make education more effective. I am currently working on my dissertation on the topic of Caring in Online Settings. During my free time I like to snowboard, play piano, watch movies, host dinner parties, and I recently learned how to play the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the principles have taught me how to make my life happier. All the principles are basically for my own good and once I learned this, following the principles and being Mormon seems like a happier and rationale way to live. Being Mormon has brought so much light into my life. Besides the social benefits and the great brotherhood and sisterhood within our community, being Mormon has given me answers to some of life's most complex questions -- how to strengthen my family, who I am, and where am I going, what happens after this life is over, how can I be happy, what is my purpose on this Earth. This knowledge has been extremely empowering in my life. As a Christian I have learned that God's love is unconditional. He knows me. He knows my life story. He wants me to be happy. I also love that my church accepts the truths found in many other religions as truths and accepts and even looks for ways to work with other religions in solving some of the most complex issues facing humanity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every aspect of my life. It has even guided my dissertation topic which is related to how to increase connectedness and closeness in relationships in online education. My faith really has centered me on putting people first and valuing relationships. I live my faith through my family and the happiness they bring me and I bring them. I live my faith on a daily basis through small decisions I make every minute of every day. For example, I try to wake up every day and I choose to be happy and to be proactive.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Andrea
If you would like to talk to someone who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you can do a Google search to find the closest meetinghouse to where you live, and come to our church building. Anyone there will be happy to share with you and answer any of your questions. Show more Show less
