Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Mormon. I have 5 children, 1 son-in-law and a grandbaby on the way. I love spending time with my family!

About Me

I am the happy wife of the most amazing husband and mom of 5 children, 1 son-in-law and excited grandma-to-be. (coming May 2016) Our family enjoys spending time together 4 wheeling, dirt biking, camping, watching movies, and hanging out at home or away. On my own I enjoy reading, quilting, volunteering and listening to music

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. My parents, however, did not. They both joined the Mormon Church as adults before they were married. As a teenager going to college and living on my own, I sometimes thought that the values I had been raised with were outdated. I quickly learned that they weren't. Those values and beliefs allowed me to feel good about myself and the life I was leading. I feel closer to Jesus Christ when I do those things that I know are right.

How I live my faith

I participate with the Boy Scouts of America organization through our Church. I am the Scout Committee Chairman. Having 4 girls and only 1 boy, sometimes I thought they were a little over the top. As my son got older and joined the BSA, I saw the opportunities it gave him for growth, achievement, and self mastery. I fully appreciate this program now and love working with the boys to help them work towards their goals and hopefully to eventually achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. I have had the opportunity to work with the teenage girls, the young children, and the adult women in our church. I have loved each of these experiences and the opportunities to learn about others and more about myself.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

This is such an important question. I think the best way to stop this awful influence is to be ACTIVELY involved with our children. Know their friends, know what they are watching on tv, know who texts them. If we aren't around then we can't possibly know what they are doing. We need to be their parents first and their friends second. I think passwords on the computer and having the computer in an open busy place in the home is very helpful also. Help your children to know that they can talk to you abut anything and that you are there to help them. Show more Show less
