Hi I'm Marvin

I'm Filipino. I love basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to my parents in the Philippines and later we moved to Canada and that's where I grew up. My father loves basketball and I grew up the doing the same. My mother encouraged me into music and I learned to love the piano. My sisters inspired me to learn the ukulele. I like being with my friends and trying different things.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents learned about the church in the Philippines during their young adult years and then decided to be a part of it. Later on the met, fell in love, and were married and sealed in the Manila Temple. As I grew up in Canada my parent taught me and my sisters about God, Jesus Christ, and many gospel principles. Since I was still young I believed everything my parents taught me. As I was going to high school I started to doubt and question things about the church and I wasn't sure it this was even right for me let alone if it was true. Well I started to search. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of its truthfulness. God, our loving Heavenly Father answered me with His Holy Spirit letting me know that is true. I'm also a Mormon because it helps me strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm a pretty shy person and I get nervous when I talk to others about the church but I try live the gospel through my example. Having a prayer in my hearts gives me courage to do what is right. Prayer helps me strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly father and helps me remember that He loves me. Going to church each Sunday reminds me to reach out to others and love as Christ loves.
