Hi I'm Jason

I'm a horseback riding, soccer-loving, dad, husband, medical resident and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived all over including Washington, Texas, Nevada, Idaho, Ohio, and Missouri, England, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing sports, riding horses, hiking, playing the piano, eating pizza, and working at the hospital learning and serving as a training physician.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a sophomore in High School I had an experience where I felt an extreme sense of love and peace wash over me when a seminary teacher was explaining how I could become like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I remember vividly not wanting that warm happy feeling to go away, especially as I went to my next class across the street. I know that God and His Son Jesus Christ are real Beings and that They are into the details of my life. During the business of life, I am finding that there can be happiness even during times of stress. I would be lost without the Church of Jesus Christ. Through power and authority restored, families can be together forever, not just until death. Modern prophets and apostles still speak the words received from Heaven and God reveals His word today updated instantaneously to His Church and to individuals as we are open and worthy to receive it and then obey. Prayer and communication with Him is not limited by any place, time, or distance no matter the circumstance. It's true, I know these truths for myself!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by striving to be more kind and to eliminate complaining, but instead to count the many tender mercies all around me. I lived in Zimbabwe Africa for two years and was able to meet some of the best people I have ever known. They were a most humble and caring people. I shared the truths from the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ that holds the answer to every question that could be asked. I know about where we came from before this earth life, why we are here on earth, and where we are going after this life. While on my mission, I experienced unique african meals, made lots of friends, saw incredible sights, and learned of these wonderful people. People are the same whereever you go. I just try to just live good day to day. When someone needs help, I try to help. When someone needs comfort, I try to comfort. I try to be a good dad and a better husband and try not to repeat mistakes. I'm not afraid to say a prayer when I need to or over a meal or try to listen to inspiration to serve or visit someone in need. Trying to become a better disciple of Jesus is a lifestyle, independent of the actions of all others.
