Hi I'm Hi! I am Judith.

I grew up in Rwanda, I work with students with learning difficulties in a college, I am a single mum and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mum of a nine year old boy, I love listening to good music, reading good books, learning new things, walking and exercises in general, spending time with my son, play football with him and being around my family, when I get to see them, as we live all in different parts of the world. I left my home country of Rwanda because of the war and its consequences and live now in UK. I speak French, Kinyarwanda, English and a bit of Swahili.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a presbyterian, my dad being a minister, I also had opportunities to go to other churches depending on where I was studying, working or living. I had a fair knowledge of God, Jesus Christ and the Bible. But it is like something was missing. I always wanted to live a good christian life but for some reasons I never got to the point where I could say " right, I know no one is perfect but at least I am doig my best". Many times I have made commitments to God to live according to his word but often would find myself doing things I am not supposed to do. This gave me frustration and a feeling of emptiness in my heart. I have also had difficult times in my life, with the things I have seen in my country and in my personal life. All these things made me understand well that I should only look to God in everything and have prepared me to receive the true teachings of the Gospel I have been looking for a long time. When I met the LDS missionaries on the street in London, the first thing which attracted my attention was the name of the church. I thought this one must be different from the other denominations I know! I accepted to be taught, but later had to move to a different area. Though I had not received enough teachings that time, I never had the courage to attent the churches I knew in that area, I had to search for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the telephone book, I continued the teachings and was baptised in 2003. I trully beleive that the Lord has prepared me to join his true church by allowing me to know about those other denominations first. I love the teachings of the church, as they have made me a better and happier person. I would like everyone I love to experience this peace and happiness that only the restored gospel can offer. I am really grateful that, I have found a home and a family away from home. The church and the members have been everything for me when I was so lonely in a foreign land.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church for 8 years now and have served in different ways. I am currently a nursery leader in my ward. i love teaching the little ones and learning from them. In my daily busy life I try my best to balance and find time read, ponder the sriptures and pray, together with my son. I love to serve others when opportunities arise. I try to live the commandements of the Lord, as they keep me safe and happy.
