Hi I'm Melanie Gibson

I'm a wife and mother of 4 amazing kids. I love to exercise. I love to read. I love to bake and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four amazing kids and a wonderful hardworking husband. Being a mom is definitely not easy but it is so rewarding. When I'm not busy chasing my kids around I get to help run our family business. I love my calling at church working with the youth. I love to cook and bake, it actually helps me release stress. I've started learning how to use a sewing machine and enjoy making little projects here and there. Every once in a while I find time to read a good book, once I get into a book I have a hard time putting it down. I love to spend time with family and friends but my favorite thing to do is to go out on dates with my amazing husband. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. My parents raised me and my six siblings in the church. I've stayed a member of the church and raised my children it the church because I know this is the true gospel. There came a point when I had to find out for myself if it was true and I can not deny the personal revelation I received through prayer that it was true. I know that our Heavenly Father knows each and everyone of us and that he wants us to be happy. Living the principles of this church brings me true joy and happiness. I know we can pray and speak to a loving Father in Heaven and that he will answer our prayers. I know he is aware of us and will guide us. I know that I have a Savior, Jesus Christ, that died for me and who lives. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today, Presidents Thomas S. Monson, that leads and guides this church. I am so grateful for The Book of Mormon. I know that as I read it I grow closer to my Savior and to my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to know that through the blessings of the temple I am sealed to my family forever. That blessing makes life worth any hardship or trial. It gives me an eternal perspective and a goal to be my best. I know, with out a doubt, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I do not think he was perfect, but I do know that he was called of God to restore this true church to the earth. The gospel is perfect and we are not. We do our best to live it and become like our Savior, Jesus Christ, one day at a time. Life is not perfect just because I'm a member of this church. I still have trials and hard days, but I'm so grateful to have the knowledge I do of this gospel because it helps me know how to deal

How I live my faith

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is my whole life. Everything I do is based on that, it is who I am. I live it everyday by teaching my children to apply gospel principles in their lives daily. Some of the most spiritual discussions I've had happen while driving down the road with my kids in the car. We talk about life and about the things we believe. I love being able to give them answers to their questions because I have the knowledge of the gospel. My husband and I also have daily scripture study and prayer with our children and with each other. This helps us to stay closer as a family and to stay closer to our Heavenly Father. I also get to serve at church working with the young women ages 12-18. It is so rewarding to work with these amazing youth who stand up for what is good and right even when it is really hard to do that. I get to be a visiting teacher and visit sisters in my ward twice a month. I enjoy making friendships with these sisters as we help each other live the principles of the gospel and try our best to be good wives and mothers.
