Hi I'm Lisa.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time college student working toward a degree in Elementary Education. I'm also a full-time mother and a full-time wife. I volunteer in my community with Relay for Life as a team captain. I recently discovered that I love to write stories and I hope someday to be published.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though my parents were members of the Church, I knew I needed to gain my own testimony. I prayed and read the scriptures, I searched to know for myself that the Gospel was true. I went through a season of doubt thinking that any Church that led a person to be closer to God might be good enough. After much effort on my part, I gained a personal witness that only this is the true Church of God on the earth. While many other religions contain parts of the truth, I have never seen any church have the fulness of the Gospel but this one. I know that our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ care very much for all of humanity and I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live with Them both someday.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Young Women's program, which is for the girls ages 12-18. We have lessons each Sunday and hold activities each Wednesday to help them achieve goals they have set and to give them a place to meet with others who share their same beliefs. I also help them learn to set goals and achieve them through a program called Personal Progress. These goals are based on eight important values; faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue.
