Hi I'm Tim

I'm a musician, a novelist, an Engineer, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi, I'm Tim. I live in Utah but my heart is always in PA. I was born and raised near Philadelphia and am a descendant of some of America's noble founders. It's who I am. I love playing the Saxophone and writing novels. I write music and love a good concert. I am a student at BYU and I hope to be a civil engineer for alternative energy.

Why I am a Mormon

I spent most of my life relying on my parents' conversion as a crutch. They were both converts who searched diligently for the truth. My mom investigated churches for 8 years straight before she stuck with this church. Since then, the Knight family has been very solid in the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. It took me until March of 2010 before i came to know without a doubt that this church is true and that i was just plain lucky to be born into it. As i approached the day where i had to prepare for my mission, i knew deep down that i was not ready to serve God with my whole heart. I spent most of my life going through the motions and never internalizing anything, nor was i the person everyone expected me to be. Ironically enough, the only thing to get me straightened out was a couple of semesters of college in Utah. As i was assigned scripture reading assignments EVERY day, i slowly learned to enjoy it. I began reading with much more meaning and there was a point where i was ready to change who i was and become a member of the church of God. After a dip in the refiner's fire, i became who i had to be.

How I live my faith

Now that I'm no longer a missionary, i am working on shaping my future. I have a full life to live and am going to use everything i learned to become more of what i am now. The trick to living the faith continually is remembering. The scriptures are always telling us to remember who we are; remember our promises to Heavenly Father. Too often do people forget how they feel when the Holy Ghost speaks to them. Too often do we forget our divine heritage. If I can remember how I was on my mission, then my future will be a continual progression towards our Heavenly Father.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Tim
Well, of course. Why not? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He called prophets in the past, and he calls them now. If there was ever a time where the world needed a prophet most, it would be today. The same authority that parted the Red Sea and shot fire out of heaven is given to the children of men once again, and such power will never be taken from the Earth until Jesus Christ comes back. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Tim
The missionaries proselyte because the gospel means a lot to them, and there are so many people in this world who have not experienced the blessings of the restored gospel. The full truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ was lost in generations of confusion and hypocrisy, but it has been brought back along with prophets and apostles just like in the days of Jesus Christ. What is the Book of Mormon?

Tim
The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture, just like the Bible. It is composed of smaller books with chapters and verses. It takes place in the Americas thousands of years ago. It testifies of Jesus Christ and his role as the savior of all mankind. It was hidden under the earth by the prophet Moroni and was kept safe until Joseph Smith was directed there by God. Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God and helped it bring new light to the world as the 'newest' book of scripture. Show more Show less
