Hi I'm Kristy

I'm a wife, mother of three, enjoyer of cooking, avid reader, and ice cream lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I was baptised into the church when I was eight and have been blessed to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout my life to guide and direct me. I was married in 2003 to my best friend, Brian. Together we have three children, two boys and one girl. I am a college graduate, but have decided the best place of work for me is in the home. I love to read a good book, cook a nutritious and beautiful meal, snuggle with my kids, play games with my family, travel, learn about history and eat ice cream! I love my country and the history and freedom we have here. My greatest blessing and accomplishment in life is being a mother and wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have had confirmation from the Holy Ghost that is is the only true church on the earth. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that Joseph Smith saw God and Christ, that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and that the Book of Mormon is true. I am a Mormon because we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, to guide us and who will never lead us astray. A loving Father in Heaven wants us to have a prophet today. I am a Mormon because abiding by the principles of the gospel keeps me safe and makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in a righteous way that reflects the Savior in all that I do and say. I teach my children how to be good and how to know Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Prayer is a big part of my life. Reading the scriptures is a big part of my life. Going to church is a big part of my life. I serve other women in my area as one of the Relief Society Leaders (Relief Society is an organization for women). Through my calling to serve them I am able to share my testimony with them and increase my own faith as I help to build theirs.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are ABSOLUTELY considered to be equal to men. In fact, you will often hear men in the church (including our general authorities) say that women are superior to men. This, however is untrue. Our men love, honor and respect us and we do the same in return for our men. We believe that eternal progression (continuing to grow and learn after this life) can only be achieved by a man and a woman being married in the temple and living righteous lives together. We need each other to have an enjoyable and sucsessful earthly life as well as throughout eternity. We have a Heavenly Father AND a Heavenly Mother. We are encouraged as men and women to obtain spiritual and temporal knowledge, be enganged in church, family and community activities, have active and healthy life habits and express love and kindness to each other. What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society it exactally what the name implies...a RELIEF SOCIETY. The women of the church were originally organized to provide releif for the people in their community. We are constantly looking for ways to provide temporal service and relief within our own communities as well as throughout the world. In the Relief Society we also strive to provide spiritual relief and learning. By abiding and teaching principles of Christ we bring ourselves closer to Him and are also righteous examples to those around us. We are taught how to improve ourselves and our families as we attend our Relief Society meetings. Relief Society is divinely inspired and all women - ALL WOMEN - are invited to join us.
