Hi I'm Ken Levesque

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I live in Washington State. I am a father of six kids, five girls and one boy. I have been in the Architecture and design industry for +10 years. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, watching movies and finding new ways to further my career. I live about 45 miles from work. Luckily, I have a carpool, my other family. It allows me some decompression time in between home and work. Sometimes I feel I spend more time with them on the road during the week than I do with the wife and kids. My teenagers are busy with after school activities, my two middle girls are off playing with friends and my little ones are in the backyard digging up the garden (they love playing in the dirt). I am really grateful for the weekends and the time I get to spend with my family. I'll spend time going over the budget with my wife. That sounds dull or somewhat dangerous, but I really find it is a good time. We are working together to get out of debt. My oldest is learning to drive, so I get to drive out in the country with her and get some quality time. My second oldest will sit with me and talk about her friends and boys (ughhh). My two middle girls like to play games with me and the two little ones love to read and sing. So, needless to say, I don't have a lot of spare time. They keep me out of trouble.

Why I am a Mormon

When I ponder the things of life and of why they are, I turn to the Lord and his Spirit teaches me the truth. I believe that Jesus is the Christ and God is his Father. I believe that prophets can teach us his will. I know when I follow his command that is given scripture, I will be blessed and I am a witness to those blessings. These are the teachings that are given to us in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful for peace that being a member of His church gives me.

How I live my faith

I am the leader for the younger to middle aged men in my congregation. This calling provides many opportunities for personal growth and service. We teach them how to be better husbands, fathers and people in the community. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve in this calling. It allows me to see these wonderful men in action. They go and visit other families in the ward; teaching them and providing service. Despite their busy schedules and families of their own, they make the time to help others. They set the example for me to be a better person and to be more selfless.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I also believe that we need to try to get along with each other. There is no sense in fighting and contention. We set patterns in our lives that will carry forward on to the next. Some may not get along with people in their lives, including friends and family members. We believe that we can be with our families in life to come. Think about it. We can't carry resentment or a grudge and still be in the presence of God. So why should we think that this is okay to maintain this with our family and friends. Following the Savior's command to forgive is essential to our happiness. Show more Show less
