Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in Washington, am happily married to my best friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is full of passion; passion for music, the arts, literature, writing, my family, and my faith. I love to play music! Singing, playing the piano, saxophone, or any other musical instrument centers my life. Growing up I played a variety of sports, and still do today! I love volleyball, tennis, and swimming, but I mostly love being active. My family are my closest friends, and as such my sisters and I have a lot of fun shopping, playing games, or just talking. My family, my husband, and my faith are my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because in my heart, my mind, and my soul I know it is true. I was born to parents who are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was raised on its principles and truths. At age 12 I read the Book of Mormon every night for a year, and prayed every night to know of its truthfulness. I don't recall receiving any earth-shattering answer at the time... but my testimony and knowledge grew a piece by piece. By the end of that year, when I got up to bear my testimony, I could say with confidence that I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, called of God to restore his true church once again to the Earth. I know that we all have a loving Heavenly Father, and I know that He knows us. I know His son, Jesus Christ, came to Earth as a perfect being and sacrificed himself so that we could have the opportunity to repent of our sins through His atonement. My life is founded on His gospel; every choice I make is defined by its principles. There is nothing else more deeply rooted in my heart than the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I play the piano for the children in Primary. Primary is like Sunday School for children between the ages of 3-11. I love being with the children! Their sweet spirits radiate through the room. I also sing in the ward choir and fill in for the organist on Sundays if she's not there. I love serving in the church. The feeling you get is unlike any other! As I live each day I am constantly doing my best to remember my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I try to live my life in the service of others. Every decision that I make every day has a foundation in my faith, and the person that I am today is because of the wonderful peace that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is defined as an "open declaration or profession, as of faith." Someone's testimony is what they personally believe in or know concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ. A testimony starts small but through diligence and work, it can grow to be a very powerful tool. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the church is living your life with a sense of purpose in all that you do. Health Scientists today have defined wellness in seven different categories, one of which being spiritual wellness. Being a Mormon is like having spiritual wellness; you have a sense of the greater purpose beyond this life, and you feel happy. Your soul feels strong, you have a love for all of those around you, and you live every day to the fullest. Show more Show less
