Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband blessed with the perfect wife as well as 3 (soon to be 4) beautiful children. While my degree was in Physics, I decided to go a different route and am an IT business owner. I am grateful for the fact that I can say I love what I do. I spent 5 years in the US Navy as a technician for radar and communications. I have been many places and seen many things but I am always interested in experiencing new things. Change makes life interesting.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into the church, it wasn't until I was older and out on my own that I fully understood and appreciated the gospel of Jesus Christ. I came to love my savior and what he had done for me in a very personal way as my life was changed for the better by his influence and example. The more I tested his principles in action, the more happy and fulfilled I became. I gained my testimony of His gospel by seeing the changes it wrought in my life. It's never been easy, but continuing to press forward and learning to unlock my true potential and becoming the me I was meant to be has brought me peace and strength to handle whatever life throws at me.

How I live my faith

I recently moved into a new ward and stake, but it already feels like home. I've also been given a few callings to keep me busy :) I'm a member of the presidency over the Elders in our ward. Hopefully I'll find some good ways to contribute to this already fantastic group of men. I've been given a special assignment by the stake to renovate and repair the computer systems in the Stake's Family History Center in order to help bring it into the 21st Century and make it more useful for our community. I also just recently got another calling to be the Technology Specialist for my ward. Apparently someone thinks I'm pretty good with electronic toys :)

What is faith?

Faith is the testing of your hopes and dreams. We hope that there is a happily ever after in store for us. Faith is the process where you learn to trust yourself and the Lord to get you home to him once again. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Life is lived by making choices. Choice is the very basis of free will, without it we have no freedom. Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as we want without hindrance or restraint. Emergencies can take away some of our freedoms if we are unprepared to cope with them when they arise, thereby inhibiting our ability to make choices and truely live. As a people, mormons realize this and try to defend their right to make choices and live fulfilling lives. Show more Show less
