Hi I'm Shelbie

I love to dance. Pink is my favorite color, I love being outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old. I love living in sunny San Diego. I want to be a school teacher. I love to have fun with family and friends, and I love being a mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because my parents raised me that way, but once I got older I knew I needed to decide for myself if I wanted to continue being a mormon. That wasn't a hard thing for me to do. I read the Book of Mormon, really tried to understand all of the teachings that were taught in the church, and then prayed. I've never been happier! I know that this is the right thing to do because it's the true church and I love knowing that! I know I've been blessed by following my Savior and doing what is right. This church is TRUE!

How I live my faith

I try to be an example to those around me. I don't smoke, drink, or party. I stay in control of my body and my actions by not doing those things. I want people to know that I believe in Jesus Christ and I want my actions to represent Him. Currently, I am serving as a full time missionary for my church in California and love being able to see people come to know their Savior and do whatever it takes to follow Him and His teachings.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Because as members of The Church of Jesus Christ, we believe in a book of scripture that was written at the same time period as the Bible, but in the Ancient Americas called The Book of Mormon. Mormon was a prophet just like Noah or Moses, that complied the writings of the prophets into a book and named it The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
