Hi I'm Faith

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I choose to believe. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of five beautiful children, 10 years old to 4 months. I homeschool and preschool my kids, which makes for a rewarding and challenging parenting experience. My husband Mike and I met while serving in the Army and have been married for eight years. I enjoy reading, writing, learning, and enjoying the outdoors. I also like being self-reliant and am in the process of keeping chickens and a getting a garden started in my backyard.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me all of the tools that I need to live a happy and fulfilling life. Having a knowledge of Heavenly Father's Plan for me and my family brings me hope each day. I know that I am in His hands and that my Heavenly Father loves me individually, he is interested in my day to day life and I can call on him in prayer and he will answer me. I have had many spiritual experiences when I call upon God with sincere purpose of heart. Living by faith is a daily process and some days I fulfill this better than others. My life has changed for the better in the five years that I have been actively attending church. My marriage has gotten better, my kids are happier, my own life has taken on greater meaning and purpose. My husband saw this change and desired to get baptised. Now that we are both working together to qualify ourselves to be worthy to attend the temple we are praying together and serving together more frequently. It has made all the difference. I choose to believe in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ because it makes sense and it makes my family happier. Also, the church does wonderful things around the world and in our communities, through missionary work and humanitarian aid. It is also the only religion that I know of that teaches that we can be sealed to our families forever, the hope of this blessing fills me with joy. I cannot imagine being separated from my family after this life is over, it just doesn't make sense that we would be separated. The question for me becomes, "Why wouldn't I believe?". After becoming aware of the opposition to the Church, and weighing the information available to me I have come to the conclusion that everything I have felt and seen as a member has testified of Christ and there is no other reason I need. Heavenly Father loves you and he loves me and the truth bears witness. I bear my testimony to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

My current calling in the Church is as Music Director in Relief Society. I have no musical background and can't keep a beat but I accepted this calling because it is where Heavenly Father wanted me to serve, and I believe that through him all things are possible. Since accepting this calling I have felt the Spirit testify to me when prayerfully selecting songs. When I have called on the Lord to help me direct, he has helped me understand the music and direct it. At times in my life I have been able to offer service to others through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. When I say my daily prayers I ask if I can be of service to anyone that day and then opportunities become available such as babysitting for someone who needs it, calling or visiting someone in need of encouragement, bringing a meal or groceries to someone, or providing shelter for someone caught in a winter storm when the bridge for them to go home was closed. I know that Heavenly Father works in our lives and when we ask to be of service we can do the work of angels here on earth. Another aspect of living my faith is teaching my children. Daily I strive to teach them that they are children of God, that they have a divine nature and a mission to serve during their time here. The church has a great youth program and my children attend Sunday School every week as well as other youth activities throughout the week. This gives me great support as a parent, I know that not only do I have Heavens help in raising my children but also the support of the church members who volunteer their time to serve my children.
