Hi I'm Elisabeth

I love to sing, dance, and joke with my friend's. I am an Aussie from Western Australia. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am 21 years old. I am studying to be a primary school teacher and am in my third year of university. I am part of the YSA (Young Single adult) program of our church (a program for young adults aged 18-30 that are unmarried). I enjoy attending the YSA dances and other events. I love to dance and sing. My friends often say I am a bit of a dreamer. I enjoy writing stories and have started many that I plan to hopefully finish them one day. I do fencing (yes sword fighting) as a sport and have made many amazing friends from it. I love all things medieval and attend every medieval event that I hear about.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a latter-day saint? That is a good question and has not got a short answer. It is a long story that has taken so far 21 years of my life on this Earth in the making. And I don't know how long in my life before this Earth. But there is one simple answer. The Holy Ghost showed me The Church is true. It has happened many times in my life. But each time it was that same feeling; that same voice; that same understanding. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the Earth. It is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as our Lord organised in His ministry. I wish I could say I have always followed the Lords teachings. But I have not. But even when I was at my lowest I still knew The Church was true. I still believed in Christ. It was hard coming back from living the worldly life. Hard to return to the teachings. But I know that they are true. This life is a test. This life is a journey. In that journey we may stumble and struggle but the Lord will always be there for us. His atonement cleans all our sins and transgressions. In his name I was baptised. In his name I repent. In his name everyone can be made blameless in the eyes of God. This is only the start of why I am a Mormon and I will write more when I have time.

How I live my faith

At church I have three roles. I conduct the hymns in chapel. I am the female representative for YSA in my ward. And I am a leader in the Young Women's program (girls aged 12-18). I specifically am assigned to the girls aged 14-16 in my ward. Each of these roles helps me in my live to live the gospel. As the conductor I am able to have my love for music shine at church. I also get to listen to church music throughout the week and have learnt many hymns by heart. I believe hymns are prayers. I also believe they are there to remind us in times of trial. I often hum or sing church hymns when I am bored, troubled, or just in a good mood. They always brighten my day. I especially love the children's hymns. The church music is not up-beat with electric guitars and drum beats. But it is lovely to listen to and the tunes are soothing. When I get more time I will expand and tell you about my other callings (roles) in church and about how I generally live my faith.
