Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from school here in Hawaii, my wife and I moved to Widward Oahu in 2002. We now have two boys, a girl, and great friends in the community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Latter Day Saint in South East Texas. My dad's grandfather joined the church in west Texas, so there are several generations of "LDS Texans" in my family. My mother was introduced to the church by my father when they were classmates in high school and is the only member of her family. Having grown up in the church, I learned from my parents about the principals and values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I lived in an area where there were not too many members of the church and was one of maybe a half dozen church members in my high school. Although it wasn't always easy to live the gospel, I learned that having a personal relationship with God helped my day to day challenges and gave me a different perspective of the choices I made.

How I live my faith

I appreciate the blessings I had growing up in the church and have seen the blessings in my children's lives as they start making decisions that affect the direction of their lives. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me teach my children values and gives them tools to help develop personal faith. I currently work with the full time missionaries in our area in helping them meet new people to teach and helping members share the gospel with others. In the past I've enjoyed working in the boy scout program. It is an inspiration in working with young men who live their lives with dedication and faith.
