Hi I'm Kristi

I live in a small village in Alaska I'm a mom, I run my own restaurant and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Alaskan. I have a wonderful husband and two sweet children. I was raised in a home school family of 9 children. We grew up in a small village in Interior Alaska! I loved having a big family and hope to have one of my own. I am working towards finishing my degree to be a Special Education teacher (K-12) through an online university. I am a stay at home mom, I babysit, I teach piano, and I own and operate/manage a restaurant (Kristi's Quisine) during the busy summer months.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus Christ is my Savior, I am so grateful to Him for making it possible for me to be with my family for eternity. I love His gospel, it makes me happy to do what is right. I strive to follow his example and love the joy that it brings when I serve my family, friends, neighbors, and the world. I was blessed to be able to learn the gospel as a child. I love to read and ponder the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon and other good books. I know that life is hard, we all have different trials, but I also know that Heavenly Father loves me, loves all of us, and when we strive to follow him, we feel his peace and happiness in our lives.

How I live my faith

One of the most exciting and wonderful things I have done in my life, was to serve as a missionary for 18 months in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! I learned Portuguese (which was pretty tough, but fun) and spent my days teaching anyone who wanted to listen about Jesus Christ, how he can help us, and how we can follow him. It was amazing to travel to what seemed like another world and to meet and serve my "brothers and sisters" (God's children) there. Brazilians are warm, happy, and vibrant people, and I will always have a special place in my heart for them. I am currently working with the children (under 12) in my branch of the church and I love them. I love their sweet spirits and the children's songs always touches my heart. I also love music and help as the music director of my branch as well.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We will continue to exist, our spirits separated from our bodies, and to learn, and to wait. We will wait until the final judgement when we will stand before God and Jesus to be judged of our thoughts, words, and actions. If we have lived a righteous life, and repented of our sins, we will live with God forever. If we have lived a good life but not repented of our sins and accepted Jesus Christ's atonement, we will go to a wonderful place where we can be with Jesus but will not be in the presence of God the Father or with our families for eternity. If we were not repentant and did not live a good life, we will go to a good place, but will not be with our families, nor will we be with Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ. Basically, we get to choose our fate, because Jesus has already atoned for our sins, so if we choose to repent and follow him, we can have eternal life, with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and our families!
