Hi I'm Liz

I am a single mom. I co-founded a charter high school where I now work. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single mom to six kids ages 5 to 18. I work as an educational administrator/librarian/teacher at a charter high school that I co-founded. I am a musician and have a college degree in Viola Performance and Pedagogy. I also like to run and have completed four marathons. I enjoy quilting, scrap booking, reading and especially spending time with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that this religion is the best way I have to develop and strengthen my relationship with God and His Son, My Savior, Jesus Christ. Through reading His words in the Bible and Book of Mormon, attending church and partaking of His holy sacrament and attending the temple, which I believe is God's house, I can feel His spirit and use it to guide me and influence all of my actions. Additionally, I believe that this church is the same church that Jesus organized while He was on the earth but that was lost from the earth through apostasy. I am blessed each day through His priesthood power which has been restored to the earth. I believe that this church is lead by a prophet of God who speaks God's words to me. I can use those words to guide me and protect me as I try to become more like Christ each day.

How I live my faith

"Our relationship with the Lord is the most glorious love affair we will ever experience, but like all relationships it demands nurturing. It requires hard work, constant attention and deep commitment in order to grow stronger and flourish." - Imaculee Ilabigazia I currently serve in my ward by teaching a small group of 7 year old children including my daughter each week. I also strive to attend the temple weekly because when I go there I feel endowed with power from God and I am able to strengthen my relationship with Him. I am amazed each day by the magnificent God I worship. My relationship with Him means more to me than anything else and I am so grateful for my knowledge that He lives and loves me. As I strive to live my life according to my beliefs I feel His love and strength surround me especially as I deal with the huge challenges of being a single mom to six children. How grateful I am to know that He is constantly watching over me, blessing me, protecting me and guiding me if I will follow His inspiration to me and stay close to Him in all I do.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Liz
As Mormons we do not worship Joseph Smith. We are grateful to him because he restored truths to the earth that enable us to know and worship our Savior, Jesus Christ, better. Show more Show less
