Hi I'm Ernie Lingren

and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 77 year old grandpa now, who years ago as a boy wanted to fly airplanes. As a small boy, I rode my bike to the local airport with a brown bag lunch, and hung out on the control tower steps with a wistful look on my face. Occasionally a good heart would melt and take me for a ride. I did eventually obtain that dream and became an Airline pilot. I flew both domestic and international flights to Europe, Asia and Central and South America, in all kinds of aircraft, including the B-747. Today I am retired and anmardent fisherman up here in the Northwest. I still look up at any noise in the sky and follow it until it is out of sight.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church since 1975. As a pilot I had met a number of fellow pilots who were of that faith. I found them to be not only honest and family oriented, but thoroughly dedicated to giving service. Not just to members of their own church, but to strangers they had not even met. They were dedicated to those concepts that are the same the Lord and Savior taught. Not only do they teach as Christ taught, they work and live those teachings. However, when it came to their religion, I found that everyone must find out for themselves If it is true. It cannot simply be given to you without your studying the scriptures, prayer and fasting. Once I accepted that premise and put it to work, the truthfulness of their teachings was made known to me personally by the Holy Ghost. I could not deny it any longer. I threw away my cigarettes and alcohol forever. I now know where we came from, why we are here, and where we go after this life. That was 36 years ago. I challenge you to obtain a Book of Mormon. Then read and pray about it with real intent. You will not be able to put it down. I promise you, that it will truly open the door to eternal life for you and your family, as it has done for me and mine.

How I live my faith

Because I did not become a member until I was 40 years old, I did not get to go on a mission as a youth, for our church. My wife and I have served in Trinidad and Guyana for a year and a half, and have just gotten back home. We intend to go on another mission next year. We don't care where we go, as long as we can do the Lords work with whatever time he has left for us. We are absolutely dedicated to showing the world what we have found. When we are home we work as Home/Visiting teachers. That is we visit members monthly within our ward boundaries to make sure they are not in need of anything and we alway bring a Gospel lesson for these families.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Ernie Lingren
We have in our church, Apostles and Prophets. Christ taught that there should be only one church and one baptism. As we look around we see literally thousands of different denominations. Many teaching their own understanding of what the scriptures really mean. Baptism for example. There are many ways practiced, but Christ taught the only true way. Full immersion by someone with the authority.Without the guidance of Prophets and Apostles and the Holy Ghost we are truly lost. Show more Show less
