Hi I'm Donovan

I am a California native, college graduate, husband, father of 2 and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy life, especially being with my beautiful wife and children. After working two jobs and graduating college, it seems there still is not enough time in the day. When I do find free time, it is spent playing with my children, watching college sports, doing yard work, or working out, not necessarily in that order.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through my progression in the primary and young men I was able to gain a testimony of the gospel. However, it wasn't until I was in my senior year of High School that I really learned how true the gospel is and what it really means to me. During an early morning seminary class, we were singing the Hymn "How Great Thou Art". I noticed my seminary teacher became very emotional during the hymn and it raised my curiosity. "What would make her cry like that?" I thought to myself. I put it to study and prayer and very quickly learned to look into the meaning of the words I was singing, and not just sing the words. I learned for myself the power of the atonement and the greatness of that wonderful gift from my Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Every time I sing that hymn, I remember that early morning seminary lesson, my wonderful teacher, and how grateful I am for that experience which led me to a deeper understanding of how the gospel applies in my life.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Sunday School President and teacher. I served a mission in the Michigan Lansing Mission from 1997-1999. I am constantly on the look out for little ways to offer service to those in need and try to find opportunities to go the extra mile.
