Hi I'm Mickey

I grew up in the Air Force, settled in Utah, married Jimmie, raised 7 kids, gramma to 28 wonderful grandkids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to be a wife and mother and I love it. Being a Grandma is an amazing adventure as well. Other than those titles, I refer to myself as a homemaker, domestic engineer and lucky-to-be-a-stay-at-home-grandma. I like to try new, healthy recipes, sew, crochet, garden and preserve what we grow. Living the gospel brings me great happiness. Sundays are a peaceful respite from the sometimes hectic pace of keeping up with the demands of a life. The service I am able to render because of my involvement in the church brings me joy and satisfaction. I have developed talents I never knew I had by accepting the callings that have come to me through activity in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that there is no better way to find happiness and prepare to return to my Father in Heaven someday. I am a Mormon because I have studied the principles of the gospel and have applied them in my life. I know that families are meant to be eternal. I have made sacred covenants in The Temple that will allow me to be with my family not for this life alone but forever. This knowledge gives me peace and hope.

How I live my faith

Living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me great peace and happiness. Sundays are a peaceful respite from the sometimes hectic pace of keeping up with the demands of a life. The service I am able to render because of my involvement in the church brings me joy and satisfaction. I have served in many different capacities since I was baptized 43 years ago but teaching is my favorite. I have developed talents I never knew I had through this service. I enjoy going to church on Sunday and to other activities during the week. Most of my extended family live out of state and I have always appreciated the love and support of my ward family. With seven children we have had our share of ups and downs, bumps and bruises, meltdowns and miracles. Through it all our ward family has been there to help lift, strengthen, laugh, cry and sometimes just love us. I don't know how people with out a church family survive. I try to attend the Temple at least once a week. It is a place of peace and comfort.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Mickey
having the authority to act in Gods name is important because we want The Lord to recognize us as His when we leave this life. it is similar to wanting to work for a certain company. if you are hired by the person with authority to do the hiring when you put in your time you will earn a paycheck. If you just show up one day and begin working, when it is time to receive a paycheck no one will know you or recognize the work you may have done. Even if you worked hard and did a great job you are not authorized to work there and will not receive pay for your work. Show more Show less
