Hi I'm Greg

I'm a member of the LDS Church. Many people call us "Mormons."

About Me

I am a husband, father of four and grandfather. I like to hike, surf and read books. My wife is tall and thin, like me. I work with my twin brother.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the advantage of being raised in an LDS home. I learned about the church in my youth. The church has always "worked" for me. It has helped me feel connected to God. I have felt blessed by following the teachings I have received. I belive that many of the blessings in I have received in my life, including my wife and family, have come from following what I have learned. If you will do the same you will also be blessed.

How I live my faith

"Faith" means doing without knowing. When we live by faith, we are required to do things based on a commitment to ourselves that there is a God who exists. I have taken the leap of faith. I have made a commitment to do things in my life that show I believe in God, my Heavenly Father, and to do things that will be pleasing to Heavenly Father. I pray. Every day. I thank Heavenly Father for the good things in my life that I have received. I ask Heavenly Father for help with my life. I ask Heavenly Father for help for my family. I do other things as well. I try to live my life in a way that would be pleasing to Jesus. In other words I try to follow the guidelines that we have been given about what Heavenly Father wants us to do. This means being kind and loving towards others. It means helping others. Also, we have what I call a "do it yourself church." No one gets paid in our local congregations. We are all volunteers. Everybody is expected to help. I try do my part. I have been asked to do many things over the years. I have helped teach children. I have taken vacation time to take youth on outings. I have taught classes. I have been richly rewarded for my efforts. I think that when we take time to help others we feel good and are blessed ourselves.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that we had an existence prior to this life. In the Bible, God says to Jeremiah that he knew Jeremiah before Jeremiah was born. We believe that we come to this life to learn and progress. We have the opportunity to live in a mortal world and experience the challenges in this life. We can learn to have faith and to be strong in following God's laws, even though we cannot see God. Our Savior Jesus Christ came to this world to help us bridge the gap and return to God, who is our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
