Hi I'm Ben

I'm a husband, father, inventor, singer, actor and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm currently in my mid 50's, have a fabulous marriage and a wonderful family of 5 kids (ages 24 to 33). I love singing and acting, doing musical variety & entertainment and singing 2nd bass in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (for the last 8 years). In the past, I've played guitar and sung in several "oldies" rock bands, as well as several local musical theater productions. I also love to invent; mostly (but not limited to) electronics gadgets. I currently work full time as an electronics engineer, but plan on being full-time self-employed in the near future, doing my own designs and "contracting" design work on the side. My wife and I also run an artistic engraving business out of our home. We do laser engraving, artistic sandblasting and dye sublimation. As you can probably tell, we keep pretty busy with all of the above activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ very strongly, and have witnessed His hand in my life many times. Through prayer and much study (and exercising some faith) I have come thankfully to know that He really does live, is aware of and cares deeply about us and our concerns, and has provided all of the truth and authority necessary for us to find our way back to Him, both in this life and after we leave this mortal existence. I know that an intelligent and loving God would not leave us in such a confusing world without support and guidance. For that purpose, He has restored His gospel and church to the earth, just as it was in ancient days; complete with prophets, apostles and continuing revelation. It is my greatest desire to share that knowledge with everyone in my power to reach and influence.

How I live my faith

Though certainly a long way from perfection, I try to live the gospel and help others along the way as best I can. Every single day is a challenge, but I often feel the influence of the Holy Spirit to encourage, strengthen and guide me in all areas of my life. There really is no portion of my life and being that is not helped and influenced by the Gospel. As suggested above, I have a very long way to go to and have many weaknesses, but I'm absolutely sure that if I stick with it and don't give up on God or myself, keep repenting of my sins and following the Spirit and His servants, I'll be able to return to Him with my wife and family some day. The Savior's infinite Atonement will make up the difference.
