Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Pacifica California, near San Francisco. There were 5 children in my family and my twin sister is the youngest. As a child I loved to camp and water ski. I served a mission in Alabama. I graduated from Ricks College, BYU, and WSU. I married the love of my life and have 5 wonderful children. I am an engineer and ride a motorcycle when it's sunny. I like to travel, spend time with my family, play racquetball, and do woodworking/home improvement projects. I have lived in the Northwest for 25 years and think it is a great. Currently Hillsboro Oregon is home and before that Renton Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I can't imagine what my life would be without this knowledge. I know that our Heavenly father is real and that he loves me and all of his children. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides me a map to avoid the landmines that are all around us.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in harmony with the gospel. It is not always easy, but I find that as I tune out influences of the world and concentrate on serving my fellow man that it is easier and that I am happy. I have served in scouting and many teaching positions. I currently serve as a Bishop and have responsibility for a congregation of over 300 people. I thought the demands of this would be overwhelming, but I have learned the lord provides and that when each of us exercise our faith that we can do great things.
