Hi I'm Lieutenant Kevin Z.

By 25 I had already gotten married, had a daughter, and deployed twice to Iraq. Then I made the biggest decision of my life!

About Me

I'm 28 years old, I've been married for 8 years to my wonderful wife and we have two kids and one more on the way. I joined the Army as an Infantryman in 2005 right after getting married, and have deployed to Iraq twice for a total of 26 months. I joined the church in 2010 after hitting my lowest point, suffering from PTSD and losing my self-control to alcohol and partying - trying to forget the things I had seen and friends I had lost. I have several tattoos, and a lot of stories from my past...

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus had a plan, when he was asking who wanted to be a part of it every person on Earth said "yes." Now that we're here we have the God-given gift of Agency (our right to choose) and I can tell you that choosing to follow Christ's example and living a good life has brought me more blessings than I could have ever hoped for.

How I live my faith

I'm a young convert, but my life and work are a testament of how God blesses us for our work for him. I'm 25 and a Staff Sergeant in the Army. Having served for under six years, I am the youngest Platoon Sergeant anyone in my unit has ever heard of. I owe it all to God, once I started to read the Book of Mormon and committed to living the word of wisdom He led me to make the choices that propelled me to where I am today.
