Hi I'm Luwanna

I have a wonderful husband, two amazing step kids, an adorable puppy and a testimony of Jesus Christ... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I wear many hats through out the week but being a wife and mother brings me the most happiness. I love my job as a part time accountant, I love serving our youth at church and volunteering at the kids school. I love visiting friends and family and traveling when ever the opportunity allows...

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised outside the church I was taught at an early age to have faith in God and to seek truth where ever I can find it. When I learned about the Book of Mormon, the importance of Baptism, and the Restored Gospel, I gained a testimony about their truth through prayer and the power of the Holy Ghost. I chose to follow Christs example and be baptized into His church. I know that this Church is led by a Prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of who I am, and directly influences how I live my life. My life is my testimony, and it is my gift back to God. I try to live always with gratitude in my heart, and to count my blessings every day. I try to be kind and friendly to all those around me. I treat others the way I would like to be treated. The way I think my Savior would want me to. When I have bad days, and I DO, I pray and ask for forgiveness and rededicate my life to the teachings of the Gospel. There is no part of my life that my faith and values do not influence and guide me in. My values of family, love, service, honesty, compassion and forgiveness, are the lenses through which I view my life, others and the world around me.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Luwanna
Mormonism is a faith in the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We know that God lives, that we are his children. That Jesus Christ is our Savior. That he restored his Gospel through Joseph Smith... That there is a prophet today that is the President of the Church that receives revelation through Jesus Christ to direct the church here on earth. We believe that we can receive personal revelation through the power of the Holy Ghost and the Power of God and know the truth of all things. We believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God, and we strive to live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Luwanna
I think the growth of the church is evidence of the righteous desires of people through out the world to learn and know and obtain truth. It reflects the need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world and for the saving ordinances of the Gospel to be shared through out the world. It reflects the hard work and faith of members though out the world who not only serve missions preaching the Gospel, but who serve in their homes and communities changing lives and making the world a better place. I attribute the growth of the church to the truthfulness of the Gospel message as well as to the strength of those who are seeking truth in a world full of doubt, fear, greed and lust, and to the courage of those that live it and share it...
