Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a Mormon. My English ancestors converted and sailed from Liverpool to the US in 1876.

About Me

My wife and I married in 2001, two weeks before I deployed with my National Guard unit to Kuwait. I served a peacekeeping mission in Kuwait immediately prior to our nation's war against terrorism. Later, I worked as a police officer for nearly six years. Shortly after graduating with a Masters degree in Education, I began teaching. I hope to return to school once more and graduate with a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition so that I may teach at a larger university.

Why I am a Mormon

I do not believe man exists because of random particle collisions. Furthermore, an ancient prophet named Moroni challenged his readers to research the truth--an advocate for intellectual self-reliance--and then pray sincerely and faithfully to discover the truth for oneself. I have made truth a lifelong inquiry and have felt the soothing confirmations of the Spirit testify the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

My favorite things in life, after my wife, children, and family, are teaching and helping others become self-reliant. I love the feelings I have after helping someone in need, or teaching concepts new to members of my community.
