Hi I'm Kimberly

I grew up in Las Vegas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Let's see...I am the second daughter of a good sized family. I just went back to school after taking a 3 year break. I am shooting for my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I love having fun. Music is a big part of my life but I am not a performer. I enjoy swinging at the park! :-D

Why I am a Mormon

I have found when I live the principles of the gospel i am the happiest in my life. Hope that I didn't have before is prominant in my every decision. I find a great confidence comes when i know I am doing what's right and that I am doing that which makes my father in heaven happy. I am a member of this church because it portrays Heavenly Father and jesus Christ in a way that only makes sense. They love me. They want me to return to live with them again. They want me to be happy. Jesus Christ died for me, for you, so we can be forgiven of our sins and imperfections. He died that we can have peace and comfort through times of trial or distress. I know these things are true. I know the bible is the word of God as far as it is translated crrectly. I know the Book of Mormon is also the word of God and testifies of our savior, Jesus Christ, as well. This gospel brings peace, hope, truth, and love. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

I am very involved in the church. I love giong to service projects and helping others. I love helping to organize things. I love going and visiting the women and making sure everything is okay or checking if they need anything.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Visitors are always welcome!! We wear our Sunday best. For some women that means dresses or skirts and shirts/blouses and for some women that means slacks and a dress shirt and suit coat. But your best is good enough. Mormon church services are 3 hours long. The first hour is where everyone is together. This is called "Sacrament Meetimg." During this meeting we sing hymns and hear talks. The most important part of this meeting is when we partake of the sacrament, which is the bread and water in remembrance of the sacrifice of our Savior. The sacrament reminds us of the promises we made when we were baptized. The second hour is Sunday School. There are classes for all ages. Nursery is for children 18 months to 4 years old. Primary is for children from 4 years old to 11 years old. Then there are age specific classes from 12-18. And adult classes. This allows for the gospel to be taught at each level of understanding. The third hour is where the men and women split. Young Men is for 12-18 year old men. Young Women is for 12-18 year women. Priesthood is for the adult men. And Relief Society is for the adult women. Let's face it, men and women are very different and it helps to be able to communicate more specifically to what we have been created to do. It may seem intimidating at first but as you listen with your spiritual ears, you will find a great peace in the service. Show more Show less
