Hi I'm Jeanne

I'm a bibliophile, Francophile, and traveler. I live in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my sweetheart for over 30 years. I'm a mother of six and a grandmother of six. I love to get up early and stay up late. I'm a certified bibliophile--I own and read hundreds of books! I love to go on dates with my husband, talk to my children and grandchildren, garden, play the piano, read French, photograph everything, create family dvds, traverse Southern California and beyond, and write books for my family. I have a passion for living, and want to, as Henry David Thoreau said, "suck out all the marrow of life!"

Why I am a Mormon

When I was fifteen, I read the Book of Mormon in order to find out for myself if it was true. Even though I grew up in the LDS church, I needed my own answer. I did read it and received a witness that it is the word of God. The Book of Mormon is the greatest vehicle for leading a person to Christ, and I read from it every day. It is a second witness, along with the Bible, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that the only way to God is through Him. My study of the Book of Mormon has shaped my life more than anything else, bar none. When you read the Book of Mormon your relationship with Christ grows--you feel the power of God working to guide your life. I feel so blessed to have the restored truths of Jesus Christ's original church as the anchor for my life. In this troubled world, I'm grateful to be able to say that I know where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going. I'm also grateful that I could build my marriage and raise my children on this same foundation.

How I live my faith

God. Family. Country. Those are my most important priorities. I spend time with my Heavenly Father every day through my personal devotionals, and strive to follow Jesus Christ in all I do. My roles as a wife and mother are the grandest and most noble I could hope to have, for teaching and nurturing immortals souls is the pinnacle of life. I love my country and contribute to my community by serving at church, volunteering in my community, and teaching classes. For the past several years I have served at the district level in the Boy Scouts of America and helped put together young women summer camps. Nothing is insignificant. Every life I touch reflects my love for and my faith in my Savior Jesus Christ, for inasmuch as I do it unto the least...I do it unto Him.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Of course not. As members of Christ's church we believe in helping our neighbors, and that means all of our Heavenly Father's children on this earth. Mormons would think this a strange question, since we believe Heavenly Father is truly the Father of everyone and that we are all brothers and sisters. Show more Show less
