Hi I'm Lisa

I grew up in the UT & ID. I worked 10 years as a RN. I have 6 children, the last was adopted at age 6. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mom with 3 boys and 3 girls. I have 2 grandsons and a grand daughter. I worked in the nursing field until my 4th child was born and since I have loved being home with my kids. I love a good story. Whether that be a great book or an awesome movie. I love a good idea that helps people at home, school, or church.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church with good parents and 6 siblings. We didn't have many worldly goods but we always had the church and each other. My parents prayed, relied on the scriptures, and always tried to do what was right. They followed the prophet who said to have Family Home Evening each monday night. Even though being taught the values and teachings of the gospel, I had to gain testimony for myself. As a youth I had a time when I needed to know. It was manifested to me in a very powerful spiritual way that all that I had learned was true. That God was aware of me and my life and he still loved me. This event carried me through times of trial and temptation. I knew the gospel was true and I could not deny it then and I cannot deny it now. Many spiritual witnesses throughout my life have only confirmed and strengthened what I found out at age 16.

How I live my faith

I currently teach an early morning religion class to youth ages 14-18 in the church. I love them and the many opportunities I have to work and learn along side them. The bible has such beautiful evidence that God has always given his children what they needed to return to him, but how glorious it is that we now have all of His gospel in its fullness. I helped with the young children in the church for 22 years previous to this and I loved being a cub scout leader, teacher and teaching music. I love music and singing especially teaching music to young children. I have sung in many choirs in church and the communities I have lived in. (Go Altos) Singing brings me Joy. I love serving in the community, especially at Christmas time. Our family has always found a way to help others by helping at a food bank or donating toys, food, and time to worthwhile charities or giving secret gifts to neighbors and those in need.
