Hi I'm Sheryl

I'm a Mormon currently serving a mission, a wife, mother, grandmother, retired 1st grade teacher, loving this stage of my life!

About Me

Hi! My name is Sheryl Outcelt. Recently I retired from a long career of teaching first grade. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am a Mormon, currently serving a mission with my husband for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love this phase of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life, coming from all Mormon pioneer ancestry. The greatest joys in my life have come from being a member of the Mormon faith. Though I have always been active, there was a time in my life when I needed to know if the Church was true. I read everything I could find that was written about Jesus Christ. I read the New Testament and the Book of Mormon with deep intensity. I prayed to know that the Gospel was true, that the Book or Mormon was indeed another witness of Jesus Christ, that Joseph Smith had restored the Gospel in its fullness. I received my answer. Jesus Christ is the center of my life. He is, as He proclaimed, the way, the truth and the life. He gives meaning and purose to my very existence. Because of His great love for me, my heart is full of joy and my life full of hope. I have faith in His infinite Atonement and the blessings He promises. Through Him I find peace and purpose, even in this troubled world. I testify that He lives!

How I live my faith

For fourteen months my husband and I have been serving as full-time missionaries. Our days are spent in helping and loving people. It is a privilege to bear testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. It has been one of the happiest and most fulfilling experiences of my life. After we complete our mission, I will enter a new phase of my life: retirement. I have many plans to fill my days completing my "bucket list". The simple things of life make me the happiest, including being a wife, mother and grandmother to a large family. What a journey my life has been! Trials, yes, but my journey has been full of joy, laughter and beautiful memories. I pray I never grow too old to enjoy the beauties that surround me, the comfort of people I love, the excitement of meeting new friends, the courage to try something new, the ability to feel gratitude for each new day.
