Hi I'm Colleen

I sing in a quartet, Harmony Road, and in Mountain Jubilee Chorus, of Sweet Adelines International. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a condo with three cats and a female roommate. I love my ward and neighbors. Six years ago, I had to move from my home after my mother passed away. I would have stayed but we sold the property to a developer who built Costco and a lot of other shops and restaurants where I used to live. Now, I love my neighborhood and ward. A bunch of us get together every Monday evening for our Group-Family Home Evening. We rotate to different homes and we all get a chance to discuss the Conference talks out of the Ensign magazine. It really brings us closer as friends and we learn more about the Gospel and each other. My major hobby and passion is belonging to the Mountain Jubilee Chorus of Sweet Adelines International. We compete, perform when we can, and enjoy sharing our love of music with everybody! I'm also singing baritone in my own quartet- Harmony Road. We have great fun singing together and sharing our love of music wherever we get to sing, like: ward parties, other churches functions, Singing Valentines, etc. Other hobbies I enjoy is designing jewelry, crocheting "Handi-towels" and other crafts. I love good movies of all sorts, Louis L'Amour western books, Jude Deveraux, Harry Potter fan, etc. I work at a reservation center for Holiday Inn properties worldwide. Quite interesting and it's fun to travel "in my head" as I help guests reserve rooms wherever they need them. (I used to work for the Church downtown from 1971 to 2003. So this is my new career at IHG. As you can tell, I'm a busy person, singing, working, Church activities, etc., etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon with a dad who was an Elder. My mother never joined and passed away without being baptized. But I hope to get her qualified to accept her baptism when I get to the temple one of these days. I always felt that my mother was more "Mormon" than the "dunked ones." (those who got baptized and really didn't live the LDS life like they should.) She was the one who supported me more than my dad.

How I live my faith

I treat eveyone the same with humor, caring, and serving one another whenever I can. In church, I have two callings: Visiting Teaching Coordinator and Librarian.
