Hi I'm Melissa

I am a college graduate. I teach English to students around the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Global Studies. I now teach English to students around the world, mostly North Korea, using Skype. I absolutely love learning about other cultures and countries. I have really enjoyed interacting with people from across the world while teaching English. It is my dream to travel the world and learn about the culture and people in many different countries. I have been married to the man of my dreams since January 2009 and he is the best person in the entire world. We enjoy doing many different things together, such as: hiking, camping, riding four-wheelers, watching movies, and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon and I would not trade that experience for anything in the world. I have chosen to be a Mormon because I have see the power of this gospel in my life. This gospel brings families together which, in my opinion, is so important. I know that no matter what happens in my life, I have a family that loves and supports me and because of the gospel, I will be with them FOREVER! I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible several times in my life and I have received a personal witness that they are true and they function together and are complete truth. The church honestly makes me a better and happier person because of the teachings of Heavenly Father and the council that He gives me individually and collectively through the Prophet and apostles of the church. I have seen so many miracles and I have felt the spirit so strongly that to deny it would be absolutely ridiculous.

How I live my faith

As a part of my faith, I teach the children of my Church. I teach the teachers how to teach the gospel to the children ages 16 months to 4 years old. It is really fun to get down to the basics so that the children understand that their Heavenly Father loves them. I also meet with several women once per month in order to further discuss the gospel and really anything else that we as women need to talk about. Additionally, when I was growing up I really enjoyed coaching softball for the community teams. I was able to coach my little sister's 12-13 year old softball team with my dad and I loved it!
