Hi I'm Byron

As parents of five children, my wife and I are grateful for the stabilizing influence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. There I was raised by faithful parents who taught me the value active church service. When I was 19 years old I had the opportunity to serve for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Massachusetts. These days I work as an electrician to support my wife, of eight years, and our five children. Just recently I have gone back to college to study engineering. So, now my hobbies include doing homework and helping my wife raise our kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is no other church like The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the earth. It is easy to say that I am only a Mormon because my parents brought me up that way. There have been some who said I didn't really have a choice. This is not true. Everyone has a choice. There are plenty of examples of people who, like me, grew up in the church, with faithful parents, and yet have chosen not to continue with it. I choose this church because I know it is true. As I live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and his prophets, both ancient and modern, My life is blessed with peace and surety despite the troubles and uncertainty which is so common in life.

How I live my faith

My wife and I read the scriptures every night with our children. Most Monday nights we have Family Home Evening, which is a night each week for our family to spend time together learning the gospel and playing games. In the church I am an adult leader in the youth program. I am not a paid minister, for there are none, but in this way I take part in helping to build up the faith and testimonies of the next generation.
