Hi I'm Tony

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of four wonderful young adults that keep me wondering every day what they are doing in their lives. My beautiful wife and I have been married for almost ten years now and love each other more every day. I am currently working on the completion of a second masters degree in which my wife says I am crazy for continuing my education some more. My work includes writing and negotiation of contracts all over the world. I have worked in Bagdad, Iraq in the rehabilitation of city, Hurricane Katrina in the installation of over 35,000 trailers for the homeless. I love umpiring softball in which I have had the pleasure of working four national tournaments. OOO what fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert of 10 years in which I thank my beautiful wife as she was the one that introduced me to the Book of Mormon. My conversion happened rather quickly as I felt the Spirit from day one. I started taking the lessons with the Missionary Sisters in California and the Missionaries in Las Vegas. I had completed the third lesson and on July 30, 2001 and that Tuesday evening something just happened. I felt something in my chest, I knew something was happening, and I knew I wanted to be Baptized as soon as possible. I called my girl friend (Wife) and asked her can it be done. She had introduced me to a Brother that I been developed a wonderful relationship with who was the Ward Missionary at the time. I called him and his response was "Yes, We Sure Can." That weekend I drove from my home in California to Las Vegas with such a wonderful feeling that I knew I would be coming even closer to the Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Spirit to watch over me. We completed the last 3 lessons, I was interviewed by the Bishop, Baptized on August 4, 2001, Confirmed on August 5, 2001, and after my Baptism may girl friend (Wife) and I drove to the Las Vegas Temple just to relax and be as close to the Heavenly Father as possible. I had this feeling in my chest that just wouldn't stop. It was the Spirit in my chest telling me something. I asked my Girl Friend (Wife) to marry me at that time at the Temple. We were married on September 16, 2001 and Sealed in the same Las Vegas Temple. We love each other as we know the Heavenly Father put us together for all time and eternity as that was His will.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a very tough part of my life. This is because there are so many things that Lucifer throws at us to sin. That is why it is very important to me to start my week on the Sabbath Day. I love waking up on that special day and going to Sacrament Meeting (Giving a Talk When Asked), Sunday School (Teacher), and Priesthood Sessions as each and every one gets me prepared for the week to come. I try to home teach my assigned families on this day, but I always as a minimum check to see if the families I am assigned are doing well. I am very lucky as my wife and I are able to read our scriptures together every night. We also take time to pray with each other every night as it is one of the things that brings my wife and my love together each night. I honor my Priesthood at all times as performing any service for others is his will. My wife and I work hard on our genealogy as we believe that everyone deserves the chance to hear our Heavenly Fathers scriptures along with what Jesus Christ has done for them. I also give my testimony to others at any time and know that my life is fantastic as that is why I am here today. Last, I try to show everyone I meet the love that not only the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for them, but the fact that they appeared to Joseph Smith so we would be able to have the Book of Mormon as another testament of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of our sins. Isn't it excellent when has been done for you and I as we have what the most wonderful gift of eternal life. It makes me feel good inside always as I know that is his love.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Tony
There are so many ways an individual can increase their faith. Attending church is the first way as you are able to learn by listening to speakers in church, you can attend Sunday School, and the Priesthood/Relief Society. Other opportunities include working on finding your genealogy. There is so much you can learn about your families. It is also nice as you always have the opportunity to provide service to people in the church and within the community. Last, it is fantastic to be able to read the scriptures to include The Book of Mormon, The Old and New Testament, and other periodicals. It is wonderful the things available and what you can learn, you couldn't ask for much more. Show more Show less
