Hi I'm Becca

I'm a wife, mother, homemaker, and I love to bake!

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful husband of 3 years, I have a beautiful daughter, and I'm a stay-at-home mom. I love being home with my little girl. I also really love to bake! It doesn't take much to convince me to bake something. ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love being able to have a knowledge of who I am and where I have come from. I know that I am a daughter of my Father in Heaven, and I know that this time on earth is a time for me to prepare myself to return to live with Him again. I know that Jesus Christ is my Older Brother, my Savior, and my Redeemer. He died for me. I am grateful for that knowledge. I am a Mormon, because I know that the Gospel is true, and I choose to live by the Lord's standards. Doing so brings me peace and direction in this troubled and chaotic world.

How I live my faith

I aim to live my faith by reading my scriptures daily, and by keeping contact with my Father in Heaven through prayer. Because I know that I am a daughter of God, I am capable of praying to my Heavenly Father, knowing that He is listening, and that my prayers will be answered. I also try to keep a positive attitude in everything that I do. It is difficult at times, but I know that when a positive attitude is kept, life is more enjoyable, and I feel like I'm not wasting any precious time. There is something good in every moment, including the down, sad moments, and I try to find it.   I also try to keep a bigger, or a more eternal perspective on things. For example, when I'm experiencing a tough trial, even though I sometimes don't believe so while in the middle of it, I know that in the end, it will all work out, and that this trial is actually for my benefit (Doctrine and Covenants 122:7). And I know that through good times and bad, my Heavenly Father is there for me. I also know that His Son, Jesus Christ, atoned for my sins, and that He understands very well what I'm experiencing. I know I can turn to Him for peace and comfort. I am currently serving as a teacher in the ages 8-9 children's group in our church (Primary). I love Primary. The basics of the Gospel are taught here, and the Spirit is so strong with these little ones. I love teaching them about the principles and doctrines that are found in the Book of Mormon. It helps strengthen my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel, and helps bring peace into my life!

Are Mormons Christians?

Becca
Yes! We most definitely are! =D We believe that Christ came down to this earth, atoned for our sins, and was resurrected after the third day. "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." See 2 Nephi chapter 25 verse 26 in the Book of Mormon. Also, the full name of our church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." The "Latter-day Saints" part refers to how His church has been restored in these days. We believe that the Gospel taught in the church today is the same Gospel that He taught when He was on the earth over 2000 years ago. Show more Show less
