Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a roadtripper. I'm a Charles Dickens buff. I'm a missionary in Denmark. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Before my mission, I was majoring in English at university. I love to read and I love to write. My favorite thing to do is to be with my favorite people, whether it be talking for hours with my friends, hiking with my whole family, or roadtripping with my mom. Right now, I get to serve as a missionary in Denmark and teach and learn from the people here.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ, and because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His restored church. For me, it was a slow and simple process to come to know that this is Christ's church. When I was a kid, church was mostly something I was supposed to do. I liked it--I got to be with other kids and sing songs. My dad had left the church before I was born. As a kid, I could feel a difference between his life and my mom's--I could tell that the gospel of Jesus Christ brought love and stability, while rejecting the gospel brought bitterness. Seeing this difference helped me desire to always make the gospel important in my life. Keeping God's commandments and praying to Him and relying on Christ as my Savior helped solidify that desire. Prayers to help keep me not feel scared in the dark as a kid turned into prayers to help me in school, to help me through trials, and to help me feel God's love as I grew older. I began to read The Book of Mormon on my own, and received more truth and stability and faith in Christ by reading that book. I know that the only way I can be happy and strong enough to go through life is through Jesus Christ and His atonement. I know that through His restored church, I can learn more of Him and make covenants that bring me closer to Him. That's why I'm a Mormon! And, that's why I'm a missionary: to help others feel Christ's love and come closer to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making promises to God and striving my best to keep them. I lean on Jesus Christ to help me change into a better person. As a missionary, I live my faith by telling people about Christ, and helping them make Him a part of their life. My faith isn't something I think about once and awhile, or that lives on the outskirts of my life. My faith influences every day and every decision, and gives me the stability, happiness, and wherewithall to keep living this less-than-perfect life.
