Hi I'm Tara

I'm a Texas girl, through and through and I love my Irish heritage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and work in the Human Resources department to support U.S. National security and foreign policy objectives in austere environments around the world. I love music and dancing, so much so, that my life is pretty much a musical :) I am a Young Single Adult in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I love to seek out new opportunities to learn, see and experience new things. Life is always an adventure! I have two beautiful nieces and a handsome little nephew that are, pretty much, my world. I cannot wait to have a family of my own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not just a religious sect that I am a part of. It is a way of life. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and what it has taught me and who it has encouraged me to become. I am so blessed to have this gospel to help guide and direct me in my life. I was born into the church but still have my own conversion story. It didn't hit me all at once, but little by little, over a longer period of time. I feel very fortunate that I have never questioned whether or not God the Father and Jesus Christ were real. That is something I have always known, but my relationship with them has grown throughout the years. When I put the teachings of the gospel to the test and really place my faith in the Lord to lead me in the right direction and take a step out into the dark, where most of the time, I have no idea what is in store me, I know that I am protected and guided. The gospel brings so much peace to my life. Things like the Book of Mormon and temple worship, among other things, are wonderful tools to help invite that peace into my life. That is how I know this church is true. Everything about this gospel points to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Lord blesses me with certain experiences and trials to help me learn and grow. It is during those times and experiences where I become closer to my Father in heaven; those times when it seems that no one else knows exactly how I feel or what I am experiencing other than my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for my knowledge of the Atonement. To know that Christ suffered for me so that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven in the Celestial kingdom someday, is a blessing that I hope I never lose sight of. To know that Christ suffered for all of us, individually, makes the Atonement so personal and so meaningful. I know that these things are true.

How I live my faith

Visiting Teaching is one of my favorite programs in the church. Each month, another woman and I visit with two or three (depending on our assignments) other women in our church. We are able to talk about life, the gospel, the whole shebang! It is through this program where I have met some of my closest and greatest friends. It is such a blessing to know that there are other women near to me who have the same values and standards that experience the same struggles and pressures of the outside world. We are able to form strengthening relationships to help hoist each other up and continue forward in the ways of the Lord. Plus, it's always a blast! It is also a comfort to know that there are two women who are looking out for me and who are genuinely concerned for how I am doing and what is going on in my life. It is definitely a program inspired by the Lord. No matter where I go, I know I'll always have a friend in the church.
