Hi I'm Brenda

I grew up in a great family who loves the outdoors and sports. I have a wonderful husband and 4 terrific kids

About Me

I was lucky enough to be able to raise my kids while being a full time mother and having a small part-time job in my home repairing ceramic and porcelain figurines. My three boys are all married now and my daughter is attending college. My oldest son just had their first child making me a grandmother. My husband has his own business and we love the outdoors and have spent many wonderful adventures with our family camping and traveling around Utah. I enjoy art, sewing, sports, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family but where religion was only practiced in a casual manner. As I grew to a teen and began to see the cause and effect of how people choose to live their lives and the consequences of their choices as well as the way my own life was beginning to play out with the choices I was making, I realized I didn't like where my life was heading. I knew in my heart there was a God and I knew that I wanted to do the right things. When I was 19 years old I finally grew up and had to face myself in a spiritual sense. It was time to decide if I was going to walk the walk of what I knew in my heart. I immersed myself in the scriptures and the Book of Mormon to find out what I really needed to do and know. My soul was filled with light and testimony. I knew I could repent of my sins. I knew that I could begin a new life and a new path and find real purpose. From that time forward I started attending church with new commitment and my life has never been the same. As my actions came into alignment with what my heart knew my life opened up into a whole new world of joy and peace and happiness. I remember thinking that when I heard people talk like this that they were a little weird, but until you taste it for yourself you can't imagine what it is really like. It is like living in a dark dingy smoke filled basement and not knowing that there is a beautiful sunshine filled world of mountains, lakes, flowers, blues skies, and green forests waiting outside for you if you will just climb up and out.

How I live my faith

I love being a part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I attend church every week with people I love it fills my life with meaning and joy. Having answers to such important questions as to who I am, why I am here, and then being able to put those principles into action in a meaningful way gives so much fulness and completeness to my life. I have been able to serve my neighbors in church by being a leader of the children's organization , a leader in the youth organization, a leader in the women's organizations, a teacher, going into the homes of other members to serve them by bringing in meals, teaching, visiting, bringing comfort in times of death and sorrow, organizing parties and functions of many kinds. Not only has this helped me grow in my capacities to help others, learn to develop my gifts and talents as a person, but it has also brought me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. It has taught me to see Him in a clearer light and understand who He was and how He ministered to others. I know of no other organization that would help me, as a woman, reach my potential better, than this great church!
