Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a wife and mother of 3. I play the flute. I enjoy sports, dancing, singing, and doing crafts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of a wonderful husband and proud mother of 3 (soon to be 4) beautiful children. I grew up in Northern California and am currently living in Texas where my husband is working on his PhD. I love hiking, camping, dancing, singing, cross-stitching, doing puzzles, and spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into a Mormon family so I have been taught the principles and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from a very young age. I always believed my parents, but when I was a teenager I decided that I needed to know for myself whether the things I was being taught were true. When I was 16, I was challenged by a counselor at a summer camp to pray to know whether I was a daughter of God or not. I prayed that night and received such a warm and overwhelming feeling of peace and love that I knew that I really was a daughter of God and that He loves me and answers my prayer. That was the beginning of my personal testimony of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have had many similar experiences when praying about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and about other doctrines taught in the Mormon faith. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that it is only through him that I can be saved. I know that God hears and answers my prayers. He loves me and wants me to be happy. He has sent me hear to Earth to learn and grow to become more like Him. When I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the words from our living prophet, I can become perfected in Him and find joy in His gospel! Through my personal relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer and the teachings of Christ, I have found peace in hard times, comfort in times of sorrow, and hope in times of uncertainty. Most of all, the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness and joy. I do not know what I would do without it.

How I live my faith

I strive to live a Christlike life by looking for opportunities to serve others. I try to be kind and friendly to all of the people I come into contact with, volunteer with the PTO at my son's school, and offer help to my friends and neighbors when they are in need. I also am a visiting teacher in my congregation. I have 3 women that I am assigned to watch over and care for. I make sure to visit them at least once a month and talk to them frequently. Whenever they are sick or are having a hard time, I do all I can to help them through that. Until just recently I was in charge of organizing the women in our congregation to reach out to those in need. For example, when someone in our congregation was in the hospital or sick we would bring meals or arrange babysitting for those who needed some help while they were recovering.
