Hi I'm Skip

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 24 years. We have three boys. Two of my boys are married and the third is a missionary in Nevada. I love gadgets in all their forms. I am an instructor for operators at a nuclear power station. I enjoy motorcycling and currently ride a FJR-1300.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a Jehovah Witness and that was the faith I grew up with. I am very appreciative of that, as it gave me a great foundation. The issue was I always felt that there was more... sort of like a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces. Then, in my senior year of high school, I met a wonderful young lady (my current wife) and we started dating. Shortly after we started dating she invited me to church with her. After learning about the Mormon faith, I felt that I had found the missing puzzle pieces.

How I live my faith

I am currently the 2nd councilor in the branch presidency in our congregation. Our church is a lay organization and all the members are called to do the work. The branch president is our 'minister' and I am one of his two assistants. A branch is a smaller congregation (Sunday attendance between 60-70).... the larger ones are called 'wards' and their 'minister' is called a 'Bishop'. Being in a small congregation is GREAT as you get to know everyone better, and there is plenty to do.
