Hi I'm Heather

I'm a wife, a new mom, a speech-language pathologist, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and miss my family and the beautiful mountains. Before choosing to be a stay-at-home mom with my baby son, I worked as a speech-language pathologist in a semi-urban school district. I love to hang out with my family, play specialty board games, read children's books, and and play the piano and clarinet.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I studied the word of God in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and tried my best to obey God's commandments, I gained my own testimony or conviction that this is the same church Jesus Christ established when He lived on the earth. His gospel, including saving ordinances, is the one and true way to be forever happy.

How I live my faith

I strive to show love for my Savior by studying the scriptures and praying daily, strengthening family relationships, keeping my body pure, seeking those in need, attending church weekly, and worshipping in the temple. I love volunteering in the women's organization. The purpose of the organization is to help women increase their faith in Jesus Christ, strengthen their families, and serve those in need. Each month I help organize a class, workshop, or service project. Some of our topics have included studying the scriptures, gardening, researching ancestors, improving our health, and preparing to serve church missions. Like most other women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I regularly visit other women in the Church. We talk about the gospel, help each other during hard times, and enjoy the friendship of one another. Through this program I've been able to make friends with women of various ages, cultures, and occupations- friends I never would have had the courage to meet otherwise! I feel my Savior's love as I try to love and serve those around me as He would if He were here.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a record of the ancient Americas and was written by the prophets who lived there. I love to read about the families in the Book of Mormon as they crossed oceans and traveled in the wilderness to come to a promised land, served missions, fought in wars, recorded and passed on their history, and met the resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ. God promised the prophets of the ancient Americas that He would preserve and bring forth their records for us today. His prophet Joseph Smith translated the ancient record that teaches us about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Show more Show less
