Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in Portland. I'm a Mormon and I love the Gospel!

About Me

I'm a Mom of three and Nana of two wonderful boys. I work outside the home and have since my youngest started school. I like to spend my leisure time sewing, quilting, knitting, working in the yard and playing with my grandsons. I also have a passion for football. My boys tell me I'm not a normal Mom! When I'm not doing those things I am Young Women's president in our Ward and my husband and I serve in the Temple every Saturday. We love to be of service in the Temple. It is so peaceful there.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine not being Mormon. I joined the Church when I was 17 years old. It wasn't easy to get to that point as my Mother was not in favor of my joining. As a true teenager I wore her down with my constant pleading and nagging. I was baptized and about 6 months later my Mother was baptized too. I married in the Temple and my dream was to be one of the Temple workers when I was older. Dreams do come true. I continue to follow the gospel plan because I want to return to Heavenly Father. I know without a doubt that this Gospel is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he restored the Gospel to us. I love the Church and all that it brings to us. I love the challenge of constantly learning something new and look forward to learning much more.

How I live my faith

I believe that I live my faith by giving service to all that I can. Not only to Church members but to our community also. I love working with the youth of our Church. They are such a delight. I want to help them to be strong and stand up for what they believe in.
