Hi I'm Ryan

I´m half Swiss, half American and grew up in a little hippie town in northern Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm one of those people who just likes to be around people. I'm not extremely good at anything really, except ping-pong, which is the most random thing ever to be good at but I love it. I love to do things outdoors--biking, backpacking, rock-climbing and canoeing. Being outside helps me to appreciate what we have on this beautiful planet. I'm a college student right now, studying Geology. Life is good and I try to enjoy the moment that I'm living in as much as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of friends around me who have showed by their example the charity that a true follower of Christ has. That is what showed me in the beginning that this church was a good thing. But even more significantly, I am a Mormon because when I pray and ask God if this is true, I´ve had a personal answer that it is, and I know that God answered and continues to answer my prayers. That´s the only real way to make a decision regarding faith--to study it out and then pray and ask God to show you what men can´t show you.

How I live my faith

To me the most important way to live my faith is through love--love towards all of God's children, because by showing them love we are really showing our Heavenly Father our love for Him. I try to reach out to people who need a friend, or need a helping hand. I find it also really important to prioritize my life; what is most important? To me, God is the most important person in my life, but I know that family is really important to Him, so I make that a priority. Taking time out of my busy life to pray and study His word in the Book of Mormon and Bible, and to pray as often as I can, is another priority I have. One thing that is important to me that I did to show my love for the Lord was to serve a mission in Iceland. That was a defining time for me--I spent two years there, learned Icelandic and came to love the people of Iceland as I tried to help them learn about our Saviour Jesus Christ.
