Hi I'm Nick

I'm a husband and father. I'm a climber, snowboarder, mountain biker. I'm a follower of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an outdoors lover. I'm a student, teacher and friend. Someday, I even hope to have a real job!

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I don’t have to fit in. And that’s okay. I do what I do because it makes me happy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides teachings that lead me to the most lasting happiness. I’m a Mormon because I don’t have to believe anything. You can tell me whatever you want, but it better fit right with God, because that’s where I go for the final word. And that’s one of the reasons that so many Mormons live their faith the way that they do; when God teaches you something, you follow it! I’m a Mormon because Jesus Christ is my Savior. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints possesses all that I need to spend a lifetime growing closer and closer to Him. And that brings me joy. I am always learning more of what I am doing well and what I can improve to follow Him better. He makes it possible for me to be freed from my mistakes. And that brings me peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being my best self. If I had never heard of Jesus Christ, I would still jump off of cliffs on my bike. I would still do flips on my snowboard. I would still be me. But I would not be all of me. I have learned that I am most happy when I strive for balance in life. And that overall balance comes in very handy during a day of clinging to a 1000 foot tall slab of shear rock. I go to church on Sunday, but one day out of seven is not enough. Just like tending to my physical needs or my emotional needs one day a week would not be enough either. I live my faith on a daily basis. It’s usually just the little things – pray, read scriptures, treat others as I should, etc. Nothing that will make headlines, but it gives direction to my life.
