Hi I'm Carrie

I've never lived anywhere more than 4 years. I love to travel. Wherever I go, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been to Germany, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and many other places to visit. I have also lived in 17 places, and I am 32 years old. That's all because my family moved for my father's jobs in the Air Force, as well as other moves I made to go to college or get a job, and move with my husband's career. I have grown to love travelling to visit places as well as to live there. Every place is different and has great things to offer! It keeps life interesting, that's for sure! Lately, we do most of our travelling to nearby big cities because it's easier with 3 small chilren, or we go visit family. I try to keep us all connected and I love planning family reunions or visits. I taught 6th grade for 5 years, before having my first child. I truly loved being a teacher. Now though, I have chosen to stay home with our 3 children. We have a 3 1/2 year old boy, a daughter who is almost 2, and another daughter who is 6 months old. I enjoy hobbies like reading, going to movies, playing basketball, and scrapbooking, but I don't have as much time to do those things lately, as you can imagine! I do a lot of playdates and preschool things now. I also try to get to the gym, post on our blog, go on a date with my husband, and organize some girls' nights or baby shower's every now and then, too. All together, I am a pretty lucky girl. I have a great husband, children, family and friends - what I always wanted!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's the best way I know of to achieve lasting happiness. Yes, I admit I am not happy each day, every minute! I have ups and downs, bad moods, and sad times. But, being a Mormon makes me happy knowing I have the essential teachings and ordinances needed to be with my family for eternity. That gives me peace and hope for the future. I am also a Mormon because I know the teachings are true principles. I have tried to live the teachings throughout my life and I have seen the blessings from doing so. I have also seen the negative consequences that come from not living them. In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Alma teaches us that our faith is like a seed. If we nourish it and give place in our hearts for the word of God to grow, it will! When I read that as a young adult, I knew that was what had happened to me. Over the years of growing up as a Mormon, the gospel had grown inside me. I knew it was true. I had lived it and I believed it. I knew then that I would continue to live it and try to share it with others. It is still growing in my heart, and I know it always will. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day, and it sure keeps me and my family busy. But, it is a busy we enjoy! I love what we do. I don't think a day goes by that we don't have contact with a church member or participate in something church related. This helps us feel loved and needed as well as be blessed by serving others. We visit other members, take a meal to someone having a difficult time, help watch children, or go to a church function. At church on Sundays, I serve with the children ages 18 months to 12 years. I get to teach them on some Sundays, as well as help the other adults who serve in our organization, too. I love what I learn from the sweet children each week!
